Fall Colors and Aspen Trees on the Grand Mesa for Gordie’s Senior Photos.

Gordie's Fall Senior Photos on Grand Mesa I Class of 2025

Grand Junction High School I Palisade, Fruita, and Grand Junction Colorado Senior Photographer

Gordie’s senior session on the Grand Mesa was everything you could want from a Colorado fall — golden light, endless aspen trees, and just the right amount of crisp mountain air. The Grand Mesa felt like it was glowing that evening, completely covered in warm yellow and orange tones that made every photo feel rich and timeless.

We stayed entirely in the fall colors, moving between the creek, tall grass, and aspen groves to create variety while keeping that cohesive autumn backdrop. Gordie started his session wearing khaki pants and a patterned tan-and-brown shirt that blended beautifully with the golden leaves. The soft light filtering through the aspens gave his first set of photos that cozy, classic Colorado look.

Next, he changed into an emerald green button-up shirt, and it was perfect against the bright yellows and oranges of the forest. That contrast gave his gallery so much depth and color — definitely one of my favorite looks for fall sessions.

For his final outfit, Gordie switched into brown pants and a light brown pullover layered over a white shirt, which tied perfectly into the earth tones of the Mesa. We finished the evening surrounded by tall grass and glowing aspens, the late afternoon light catching just right before the sun dipped behind the trees.

It was extra special getting to photograph Gordie’s senior portraits since I had done his sister’s senior photos the year before. Being able to create another set of images that would match their family’s wall art and prints made the session even more meaningful.

We also made sure to incorporate a bit of Gordie’s personality and passions — hockey and lacrosse. He brought both his hockey stick and lacrosse stick, which added the perfect personal touch and made his gallery feel even more like him.

Gordie, thank you for such a fun and relaxed session! It was awesome catching up with your family again and creating these fall-inspired portraits for your senior year.
